Flat frame is an original project of Antoni Pottier, Belgian skater with incredible park and skating street skills. The Flat frame is a combination of CNC machined aluminium with large, plastic H-block. Despite lack of any rockering options (all wheels are placed at the same height), the Flat chassis has a little slanted wheel base of 267 mm. In practice, it means that the heel/back of the frame is a bit higher than the front part. As a result, when we skate our foot is not completely flat so small forward lean can be felt straight away. It noticeably makes skating fakie much faster.
Designed for skating with four wheels of maximum size of 65 mm. The combination of such big wheels and sturdy aluminium will give a great speed boost that certainly will be appreciated by transition and fast park skating enthusiasts. The sidewall is also characterized by lack of thick frame spacers. Of course the slot for wheels can be easily seen, yet it is much thinner. Consequently, wheels are almost touching the frame walls eliminating the unwanted bending of a wheel core.
Plastic, large H-block with square edges counters any chance of a wheel touching the ground while grinding, preventing any wheel bite. Great feature that facilitates performing tricks with four, larger wheels. Ideally, the Flat frame will work best with skates equipped with larger soul kits (just like FR AP skate), where the angle of boot position for royal tricks won't have to be that big. One-sided bolts for quick wheel replacement with only one Allen key.
Features of Flat Antony Pottier 267mm Black - Complete frame setFlat frames can turn out to be the golden mean between an aggressive skating setup and an urban skate. Maybe thanks to its features, constant frame change for different terrains will be a thing of the past? Robust aluminium and 65 mm diameter bring us closer to proper free skate setup, while still maintaining the optimal experience for skate parks users. Flat frames will be flawless for all coping tricks and grinding on very common, metal angled ledges. Skating with Flat frames expressly requires some experience and without question it is not a product for everyone, but if you are going to try an aluminium solution, it is worth considering them as one of the more interesting options.
