Beginning of 2023 brought us a new player in the aggressive market. The French FR Skates brand introduced its very first model for aggressive skating back in March, presenting signature UFR street skate of Antoni Pottier. Several times' winner of such international competitions like Winterclash and Blading cup receives a pro skate based on a slightly modified shell of the popular FR free skate boot. Originally made for a classic 165 mm mount, it was altered to be fully compatible with the UFS system. Available in three different variants, including the best-selling edition with Intuition liners aroused a lot of interest among the scene, offering friendly, ergonomic shell of universal fit and, above all, unmatched good value for money.
Six months after entering the aggressive market, FR Skates presents a refreshed version of a skate designed for street skating — UFR AP 2023. This time available in two, contrasting colour schemes yet providing the same technical features. The 2023 edition of UFR AP skate is not offered with standard FR liner any more, thus eliminating the problem of two different size charts of the same skate model. The current variant comes exclusively with dedicated FR Intuition liner, equipped with the new, anatomically shaped tongue. A precise insole of low volume, providing adequate ankle support and high durability, that Intuition products are known for.
The second main improvement of UFR AP 2023 skate model is reworked soul kit in shell sizes of EU 43,5 and up, more precisely, its modified groove position for royal tricks. The new position and the shape of the groove will be far better match to the larger size of the boot and frames. The angle needed for locking “royale” position will not require as much effort as in its predecessors, especially when using taller frames with bigger wheels.
The lacing system allows you to tie the skates up to the top, thanks to liners with lacing holes in cuff area. In combination with a solid 45-degree Velcro, it ensures that ankle is secured in the right way and heel remains locked in place.
The cuffs in UFR AP 2023 skates have a minimal V-cut, providing greater range of a front to back movement . It comes with additional buckle protection and the option of cutting the cuff 'wings' off (there are pre-made cut marks to make it easier) in case we cannot fasten it properly or want even more forward flex.
Despite its main aggressive purpose, UFR AP 2023 skates and its UFS compatible boot allow the frame to be mounted directly to the shell, thus providing the best possible freeride experience. UFR AP 2022 skates are universal gear, rooted in proven solutions and excellent workmanship. Giving a lot of configuration possibilities, UFR AP 2023 model will be a good choice for an aggressive skater of any level or versatile equipment for urban skating.

FR is a skater owned brand with the philosophy to create high-quality products made by skaters, for skaters. The original concept was born in Paris, France back in 2006 by Sebastien Laffargue and Gregoire Pinto, who had a vision of what skates should be - high performance hardshell boots providing comfort, versatility and durability.
With all of these elements combined, extreme attention to details and a little bit of French style, the FR boot was born and it has grown to become a worldwide success. Now is the time for the FR to become its own brand and keeping in line with its roots, these boots will guide you along the way of your skating journey. FR will continue to push the limits of skating and create new standards within our industry.
