FR UFR AP inline skates are models for aggressive skating by the french brand FR Skates. Endorsed by Anthony Pottier, a Belgian skater with numerous victories in international competitions like Winterclash and Blading Cup, they offer an ergonomic shell with a universal fit. The FR UFR AP skates are surprisingly good value for money as it comes with stock FR liner without carrying strap.

The design of the UFR AP skates is, in short, a slightly modified shell of the popular FR freeride model (FR1, FR2, FR3, and FRX). The distinctive 'open' design is quite forgiving, making them a universally fitting model. The biggest difference is the block added under the heel. We can no longer fit frames designed for SSM mounting, but UFS-compatible ones fit.

  • The skates look very neat and tidy even in larger sizes.
  • The lacing system allows for lacing up to the very top, thanks to appropriately adapted liners with eyelets, which combined with a solid 45-degree Velcro strap will help secure the ankle and immobilize the heel properly.
  • The UFR AP skate cuffs have a minimal V-cut (increasing the range of forward flex), additional buckle protection, and the possibility of trimming the 'arms' of the cuffs if we can't fasten them properly.
  • The extensive soulplate — on both the negative and positive sides, made of hard material, has a fairly shallow but wide groove. Noticeably faster and more responsive than many other soulplates on the market.
  • The ergonomic fit of this component to the skate's shell — Although we only mount it with UFS screws, their characteristic shape, matching the cutouts in the shell, provides a rigid base and prevents bending under heavier loads.

When mounting a UFS frame without using a soulplate, it will be attached directly to the boot, providing a lower center of gravity and thereby delivering the best possible freeride experience. Note that the manufacturer recommends using special spacers (links to silver and black versions).

Dedicated spacers will fill the UFS recesses, ensuring that even after tightening the screws, the shell and frame are not subjected to additional stress. In FR's range, we can find 4x80mm or 3x125mm UFS frames, but there's nothing stopping you from mounting your favorite frame from other brands. Remember, however, that the FR soulplate is not compatible with older FR skate shells (FR1, FR2, FR3, FRX).

The UFR AP skates are versatile equipment, based on proven solutions and excellent craftsmanship. The highly configurable shell can serve as aggressive skates or versatile urban skating equipment.
